Debra Lee (Susan Pleiman)
The buyer of the Obamas' autographs at the Sidwell Friends fundraiser Saturday? BET's Debra Lee, who snapped up two magazine covers (the president on Rolling Stone, the first lady on Vogue) donated by the White House. "I think they are real collectors' pieces and were a bargain at $3,400," she told us. Because the items weren't listed in the auction catalogue, many folks didn't realize the donation included personalized autographs by the Obamas. Lee plans to have the president dedicate his cover to her 19-year-son and the first lady to dedicate hers to Lee's 15-year-old daughter, a Sidwell student. "They'll keep these all their lives," Lee said.

I am so glad BET is keeping up the traditions instilled by the original dynamic duo, Sheila and Bob Johnson, by having executives desparate to be white. I am sure Ms. Lee will keep the ladder firmly held up as well. Could that woman possibly wear any more "whiteface" more make-up?
