Tables set for the largest-ever sit-down dinner, ever. (DBKing)

Last summer's Alpha Kappa Alpha convention was one for the record books. Guinness World Records announced yesterday that the July 17 meal for 16,206 sorority sisters at the Washington Convention Center was the largest sit-down dinner in the history of conventions. Who knew? It took 2,000 workers, three tons of beef and 1,800 gallons of pink lemonade, reports our colleague Hamil Harris. The meal shattered a 2001 record set in London with 11,483 guests.
