Norm Abram of "This Old House" (C.J. Gunther)

The American Academy of Ophthalmology, meeting in D.C. this week, gave an EyeSmart Visionary award yesterday to the guy from "This Old House" ... why, exactly? Because Norm Abram is second to no one when it comes to eye safety, darn it. PBS's superstar carpenter, who also hosts "The New Yankee Workshop," relentlessly warns viewers to wear safety goggles during home reno -- and "we see the results when people don't," the group's rep, Andrew Iwach, said darkly.
