Blagojevich's Wife Headed for Reality TV
So many highlights from Rod and Patti Blagojevich's appearance this morning on "Today," where they officially announced she will join the pantheon of C-list superstars (Kevin Federline, Sanjaya, Janice Dickinson) on "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here." She'll be taking the place of her husband -- a judge wouldn't allow the disgraced former Illinois governor to travel to Costa Rica for the show while facing racketeering charges.
Patti: "In this terrible economic time, I feel it's necessary to go to work and help support my family...That's a primary reason for doing the show."
Rod: "Neither one of us are celebrities. I prefer to be compared to people like Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman and others in history."
Patti: "We've had a unique opportunity that most people in America who are losing their jobs don't get, and we've been very blessed by the offer."
Patti [when asked by Meredith Vieira about her image as "a foul-mouthed Lady Macbeth"]: "I do look forward to the show as being an opportunity to see what I'm really like."
