Blagojevich's Wife Headed for Reality TV

So many highlights from Rod and Patti Blagojevich's appearance this morning on "Today," where they officially announced she will join the pantheon of C-list superstars (Kevin Federline, Sanjaya, Janice Dickinson) on "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here." She'll be taking the place of her husband -- a judge wouldn't allow the disgraced former Illinois governor to travel to Costa Rica for the show while facing racketeering charges.

  • Patti: "In this terrible economic time, I feel it's necessary to go to work and help support my family...That's a primary reason for doing the show."

  • Rod: "Neither one of us are celebrities. I prefer to be compared to people like Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman and others in history."

  • Patti: "We've had a unique opportunity that most people in America who are losing their jobs don't get, and we've been very blessed by the offer."

  • Patti [when asked by Meredith Vieira about her image as "a foul-mouthed Lady Macbeth"]: "I do look forward to the show as being an opportunity to see what I'm really like."

Why not send 'Coach' from Survivor in his place? They seem to have similar grasp on and fascination for the reality-based community.
