It's a Boy for Rep. Linda Sanchez

Love, marriage . . . and now the baby carriage.

Rep. Linda Sánchez of California gave birth to her first child with husband Jim Sullivan in Washington this morning, her rep announced. Joaquin Sánchez Sullivan was born at 9:13 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 14.6 ounces and measuring 20.6 inches.

In a statement, Sanchez said she "couldn't be happier." Sullivan said both mother and baby are doing well, and that "Joaquin's arrival is a long awaited welcome in our lives and we are richer because of it."

Sanchez, 40, and Sullivan, 43, announced the pregnancy -- and plans to eventually wed -- last November. They tied the knot in a quiet ceremony in Hartford, Conn., on April 13.
