Elizabeth Edwards now says her husband "should not have run" for president because of the extramarital affair they both kept secret during his campaign. John Edwards's wife, in a new memoir, writes that he confessed his liaison with Rielle Hunter to her shortly after entering the race. "I cried and screamed, I went to the bathroom and threw up," she wrote, reports the N.Y. Daily News, which obtained an early copy of "Resilience." She writes that though she stood by her husband, she wanted him to drop out to protect the family from the likely fallout. Edwards never refers to Hunter by name in the book but calls her "pathetic."
