"I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay."
-- "American Idol" almost-winner Adam Lambert finally confirming what he thinks you should have already figured out, in the new issue of Rolling Stone. Also says a psychelic drug-fueled reverie at the counter-culture Burning Man festival inspired him to leave musical theater for the TV talent show. ("I realized that we all have our own power, and that whatever I wanted to do, I had to make happen.") On rooming with winner Kris Allen in the "Idol" group house: "I was like, 'Oh, [shoot] they put me with the cute guy,' Distracting!... [He's] nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type except that he has a wife."

Adam Lambert is perfect: he's bright, very talented, rawther theatrical, very funny and living his youth flat out (meaning fully and "out") just the way you should.
He's a 70's guy for the 21st century.
