Virus Sidelines an Evening With Cher

If folks in Spring Valley looked a little bummed last night -- well, can you blame them? About 60 people were scheduled to hang out with Cher at a small fundraiser for Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), but the singer got the flu and couldn't make it.
Adam Waldman, who represents Cher's philanthropic interests, tapped her to headline a small benefit for Bayh, "a friend, neighbor and great senator" who lives across the street from him. Supporters paid $250 each to mingle with Cher, who was slated to introduce Bayh and then talk politics -- she's a C-SPAN junkie. Waldman promised us the party isn't canceled, just postponed until fall.
