Susan Boyle's July 4 Serenade? Not Bloody Likely

Looks like Susan Boyle is feeling better, and looking ahead: The Scottish singing sensation has left the London clinic where she was being treated for exhaustion, her brother announced today.
Concern over the 48-year-old amateur singer's mental health arose last weekend, after she placed second in the final round of "Britain's Got Talent." Expectations and pressure had been high -- Boyle's initial performance in April was viewed nearly 200 million times on the Internet.
"She's much happier," her brother, Gerry, told British TV reporters. "She seems a lot more like herself. I think things are becoming clearer now and she's much more content."
But Gerry has been saying a lot of things. Including: "Susan has been invited to the [Independence Day] celebrations at the White House with the president." (That was a comment to Britain's Daily Record newspaper, which was picked up in the Telegraph and ran unchecked in several wire stories.)
Uh, "not true," a White House rep told our colleague Marissa Newhall. And after all: Doesn't America have enough "Idols" of its own?
