Kate Gosselin lunching with another woman at Thai Pavilion in the Rockville Town Square yesterday. Mixed vegetables with scallops, pomegranate martini. Sleeveless black-and-white top. Lots of stares from fellow customers and passersby who recognized her signature business-in-back, party-in-front haircut. What's the most famous soon-to-be-single mother of multiples doing in our 'burbs? TLC reps had no comment.

Mandy Moore having drinks at Urbana in Dupont Circle on Tuesday night. Sat with three guys and another woman. Jeans, cute T-shirt. No dinner -- just sipping some rosé though the manager sent out some small plates of food, because that's what happens when you're a star. Turns out she was here for meetings with Population Services International, whose overseas child health programs she's been working with.

Well, well. Isn't it interesting that Kate Gosselin was having lunch within a stone's throw of Steve Neild's office, Prudential Associates. No sightings of Steve since the 2 of them came back from Bald Head Island, NC in May.
