The parents of Cameron Douglas say they are "very disappointed" by his arrest this week on drug charges. "Any family who has dealt with substance abuse knows how devastating it can be," said actor Michael Douglas and his ex-wife, Diandra, in a statement released Wednesday.
Douglas, 30, was arrested Monday after his girlfriend attempted to pass him an electric toothbrush with seven ounces of heroin stashed inside the battery compartment. Out on bail on a charge of possession of crystal meth, the actor's son was under house arrest at his mother's luxury Manhattan apartment when a security guard discovered the drugs. Douglas is being held at N.Y.C.'s Metropolitan Correctional Center and faces 10 years in prison if convicted.
