Sarah Palin's Southern California Getaway

Sarah Palin (AP Photo/Al Grillo)

Where in the world is Sarah Palin? The former Alaska governor has made no public appearances since she stepped down July 26; this week her father told a reporter she had been out of the state for more than a month working on her memoir -- where, exactly, he said he didn't know.

How about sunny southern California? Residents of a San Diego apartment complex saw her several times over the better part of August -- sitting poolside and tapping away on a laptop, her husband and at least a few of her kids nearby. Why there? Her reps wouldn't get back to us for comment but public records indicate her ghostwriter -- Lynn Vincent, a writer for the Christian magazine World, hired by HarperCollins for the book deal -- lives in the neighborhood. (Vincent also declined comment.)

A resident tells us that Palin, generally in T-shirts, sunglasses and visors, went mostly unrecognized by the neighbors -- until one family found themselves chatting in the pool with a little girl named Piper who told them her younger brother was named Trig.

But don't go looking for them anymore: The neighbor tells us he saw them pack up last weekend; he hasn't seen their car since.

I thought the state run media didn't want to think about her anymore? I guess they can't get enough of her, can they?

Wherever Palin is, don't track her down. The less we hear from her, the better.

Are you sure she left California???? THANK GOD!

She can better see Asia from San Diego.
Has Sarkozy called again to chat?

Palin working on her memoirs? I seriously doubt whether this clueless politician can manage to put two sentences together without fracturing syntax and applicable rules of grammar. What am I saying? My description of her makes her the ideal GOP candidate. The more Obama falters, the better Palin's chances. Abortions, guns and family values -- the Republican trifecta.

I thought Palin was on EBay where you can bid on a ticket to eat dinner with her ...starting bid was 25K.

You misogynistic basta*** on this site are real women haters. If you went so hard on Obama and his teleprompter, his lack of experience, and his general lack of qualifications to be nominated by the Democrat party, let alone to be POTUS, we wouldn't be enduring his disastrous failure of an administration right now.

The man can speak well. And he is smart. But he has never lead anything, as the past 7 months has shown us.

Hahahaha, Frieda! Remember the Infinite Monkey Theorem? (Given enough hairy primates and enough time, they'll eventually come up with Shakespeare). So you betcha, Sister Sarah clatterin' out a memoir on her laptop ought to be a piece of cake, assumin' of course she can keep all her lies straight.

OK, now that we've established WHAT Palin is, it's just a matter of determining her price.

WaPo sure is obsessed with Palin.

Voted4Hill, I suggest you remember that Obama, like Hillary, would have to deal with the disasters of 43.

Here, the ACTUAL history of the economic meltdown caused by repig de-regulation.
No liberal media, liars who claim that 7 months should make up for 8 years and false history seem to have convinced you that Obama is not a 'leader' because he didn't wave the magic wand and make it all better.

Sarah Palin is much smarter and more successful than any of the jealous poser posters here. She will make many millions a year from here on out. My motto is: when you get their money, you are th winner. If she had won the election, we wouldn't have been in this socialistic jam.

I had a friend once who just walked away from all responsibilites - and left a lot of people hanging - to sit pool-side. People don't think much of him.

Sara has a writer working with her on her book and was paid several million for it. She probably is vacationing.
