Ex-Miss California USA Carrie Prejean sued state pageant officials Monday for libel, slander and religious discrimination. The ousted beauty queen alleges that pageant folks warned her not to talk about God, even before her remarks opposing gay marriage launched her to national fame and controversy. Officials said they fired her in June because she missed scheduled appearances; her lawyer denies the absences.
