  • So, Aerosmith's Joe Perry came to the Capitol on Thursday to jam with some guitar-playing scientists. He and NIH chief Francis Collins sang a Dylan song. They were promoting funding for disease research: "Rock Stars of Science." The Hill is a place of many wonders.

  • Better than an iPod: Michelle Obama's gift to the visiting G-20 spouses is a porcelain tea set with platinum and purple accents, plus honey from the White House beehive, the White House announced.

  • Among the new appointees to the presidential commission looking into the creation of an American Latino museum: Emilio Estefan, Miami musician, husband of Gloria.

  • Marilyn Manson: The latest celebrity swine flu victim. "Unfortunately, I am going to survive," he announced on Facebook. Previous H1N1 stars: Rachel Maddow, Ron from "Harry Potter," Sanjay Gupta.
