Good afternoon, everyone. Is your Halloween costume ready for prime time? The Going Out Guide suggests places to go while dressed up -- or not -- tomorrow night. Plus, daylight savings time ends Sunday at 2 a.m., so you've got a whole extra hour to celebrate.

Prefer to avoid the trick-or-treating set? Today's promising new releases include "An Education," with Peter Sarsgaard and Carey Mulligan; "American Casino," a documentary that explores the economic downturn's effect on working class Baltimoreans; and "The Maid," a charming Chilean comedy.

Elsewhere in today's Style section: Manuel Roig-Franzia spends some time with Irene Vilar, who has written a memoir about her past addiction to abortions. Lisa de Moraes recalls a simpler time, when cable channels actually broadcast content they were named for. And Garance Franke-Ruta takes a look at a gushy new book about Michelle Obama's personal style.
