From the time she hit it big, pop star Fergie has been candid about the crystal-meth habit of her youth. ("The hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with," she said in 2006.) Should have saved it for the memoir. This week, two celebs promoted new books with unlikely-seeming disclosures of their past meth use.
Andre Agassi, who says he took up the drug weeks before his 1997 wedding to Brooke Shields. "Slim dumps a small pile of powder on the coffee table. He cuts it, I snort some," the tennis champ writes in an excerpt published by People. "There is a moment of regret, followed by vast sadness. Then comes a tidal wave of euphoria. ..... I don't sleep for two days." When he failed a drug test, he lied and said he accidentally drank his assistant's spiked soda -- and then quit for good, he says.
Jodie Sweetin, former child star of TV's "Full House," who writes that she snorted meth at a premiere party for an Olsen twins movie and walked the red carpet "high as a kite." She told Us Weekly: "I was pulling off the deceit. ..... I look at photos from that event, and I didn't even look strung out!" Says she's been sober since December. "Life isn't like a 'Full House' episode," she writes.
