The Cool in School: J-Lo and Anthony Visit D.C. Campus

How's this for breaking up a boring schoolday? Jennifer Lopez (in platform high-heel shoes and saucer-size diamond earrings) and Marc Anthony (ripped bluejeans) shocked the students and staff of D.C.'s San Miguel School with a surprise drop-by Wednesday afternoon. The celebrity couple, in town for Tuesday's White House celebration of Latina music (Anthony sang and J-Lo danced), mingled with low-income Hispanic middle-school students and gave an emotional pep talk. "With education you are as equal as the next guy," said Anthony, who's involved in Latino education.

Then Washington philanthropist Joe Robert -- who hooked up the couple with the school -- took them to Children's National Medical Center because Lopez is interested in helping women and children in poor countries using telemedicine. Couldn't visit patients, though; the hospital is in lockdown because of swine flu.
