Good afternoon, everyone. Looking to recapture that certain something? Maybe a boudoir photo shoot is just what you need.
Boudoir photography used to be the purview of brides who wanted to surprise their soon-to-be husbands before a wedding, but now it's for everyone -- even single women. It's certainly helping lots of Washington-area ladies feel empowered, DeNeen Brown writes:
Photographers say women seeking boudoir photos are often shy at first, but they steadily become more comfortable, letting slip their inner divas. Posing, turning, retreating, emerging. Seated on silk sheets, standing against brick walls, posing against the clean white of studio walls. Lights shining, camera clicking. A photographer works to capture what the women are trying to say.
At Studio 10, Ron Ceasar in his trademark black cowboy hat and black cowboy boots, is working the angles, working the lighting, controlling the shadows, assuring his subject that all is well, that she is beautiful. "Let your hair fall in your face," he says. "Perfect."
"In the first 20 minutes, Ceasar took, like, 100 pictures," Tiffani Norris says. "He made me feel so comfortable. I didn't feel like he was seeing a part of me he shouldn't see. It was not about sex. It was empowering. . . . I have imperfections. We all do. But it really made me feel good. He told me to lean back and just think happy thoughts. I had a man telling me for two hours straight how great I was."
