SURREAL ESTATE
$100 mil.
Seller: Patricia Kluge
Details: The ex-wife of media billionaire John Kluge is selling her Charlottesville estate, Albemarle House -- now one of the most expensive real estate listings in the country. The 25,000-square-foot neo-Georgian manor house (eight bedrooms, 13 baths, theater, spa, greenhouse, guest house, staff cottages and tournament croquet lawn) sits on 300 acres not far from Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. Downsizing? Kluge, 61, and new husband Bill Moses are moving . . . but not very far: She's building a smaller home somewhere on the remaining 1,700 acres of her property; will continue to run her nearby Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard.
