This just in: Nicolas Cage, Candy Crowley, Jodi Kantor

The former accountant for Nicolas Cage is striking back. In a countersuit filed in L.A., Samuel Levin says the actor caused his own problems with "epic spending sprees": In 2007, he bought three homes for $33 million and 22 cars; by 2008, he owned 15 homes, four yachts, a Gulfstream jet and a Caribbean island, reports People. The two will face off in court in February.
Now we know why Candy Crowley is looking so svelte: CNN's senior political correspondent has been dieting and working out since December, and has taken up Transcendental Meditation. But no gastric bypass. "I'm lighter now in a lot of ways," she told the L.A. Times.
Another stimulus package: New York Times correspondent Jodi Kantor snagged a seven-figure deal with Little, Brown to write a book about the Obamas, reports the New York Observer. Not clear if the White House will cooperate, Kantor penned the NYT's Magazine story on the First Marriage.
