'Michaele' crashes U Street janky sweater party

Belle of the ball: Is this the first Michaele drag queen? The crasher does her thing at 18th and U Duplex Diner. (Photo by Ward Morrison/Metro Weekly)
The only thing wrong with alleged gate-crasher scandal (besides, well, everything) is that it happened a month too late for Halloween! But on Saturday night, at the annual Janky Holiday Sweater Party at 18th and U Duplex Diner, who should come crashing into the room midway through the ugly-sweater contest but Michaele Salahi! Okay, actually a dude in a blond wig and red-and-gold sari. "Everybody immediately was like, 'That's Michaele!' " said owner Eric Hirshfield. "The crowd was going crazy." Fake Michaele danced to Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill" while tossing singles into the air with two friends in Barack and Michelle masks -- until Hirshfield theatrically threw them out.
