Peter Orszag: Washington's own Tom Brady?

Budget director Peter Orszag on ABC's "This Week" last March. (Fred Watkins/ABC News via AP)

UPDATED 10:30 a.m.
Peter Orszag! What is it about that guy, and how did he become the Tom Brady of D.C.?

Those who saw him with his girlfriends of 2009 -- shipping heiress Claire Milonas, who gave birth to his child after their split; and his fiancee, ABC reporter Bianna Golodryga -- say he's an attentive, affectionate date. But even distant fans testify to the OMB director's wonky allure.

"It's the Josh Lyman effect," said Erin Hennessy, a staffer for an education association in town. "Smart is sexy, hardworking is sexy. ... Any man packing two BlackBerrys must be all of the above."

Air America's Ana Marie Cox notes that "he is so unapologetically nerdy and informed that he transcends both geekiness and smugness."

Aminatou Sow, author of the blog Orszagasm, said it's the "buy-low, sell-high" factor. "His looks are not threatening, but you see this potential about him -- you think he'll be better than the others," she told us. Which is why many "felt blindsided" by the latest news. "Who knew geeks could be jerks, too?" Sow said. Hennessy was less put off by the love-child reports. "Dirty sexy geek," she tweeted.

How can we expect this guy to manage OMB when he can't even manage his 'three ladies'?

Don't you know the Obama's are proud of the role model he has become??

Is it really true that one has to be morally corrupt to be on Team Obama??

Hopefully he's managing OMB and that's why his life is so crazy.

If I were Bianna Golodryga I wouldn't be in a hurry to tie the knot unless she's just in it for the publicity.

Seems he rushes in and out of relationships. Red flag.

As to his appeal, he's really not bad looking--and I bet he's not poorly endowed either.

DC women must have a really low self esteem problem because that guy is butt-ugly.

True story: anyone who tries to connect this dude's status as nerd-s!ut extraordinaire to the Obama White House's fiscal or monetary policies is just mad that he's getting more play than them.

It's the whole super intelligent and seemingly nice guy thing. Same reason girls crush on their profs. Plus, as economists go he's hot.

The deficit, Orszag is saying,
Needs stimulus for its allaying;
He acts with aggression
To end the recession
By keeping his private outlaying.

The guy's an idiot. He gives up a rich mate for what? An effing "journalist". LOL. He'll live to regret this one.

These silly items are the reason we don't get the newspaper delivered anymore. Why bother?

Who -- aside from his wife, children and "other friend/mom - of - his - baby" cares?

Hey...I'm not saying what Orszag did was right...But I can understand (chris rock voice!Bianna Golodryga is fine!

Orszag says:
"we were in a committed relationship until . . ." I got the hots for something fresh.

Sounds an awful lot like Obama's
I believed in transparency and accountability - until I became president.
