"What I said was stupid, stupid, stupid. ... Obviously, I'm not blacker than President Obama."
-- Rod Blagojevich to reporters on Monday morning. Illinois' former governor apologized for remarks in the upcoming issue of Esquire, where he claims to be "blacker" than Barack Obama because he shined shoes and his father ran a laundromat in a black community. Blago now says the comment was metaphorical to express his frustration with the administration on domestic policy issues.
