Read this: Crasher update, Jenny Sanford, "Love That Girl!"

Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to Crasher Central. The latest on alleged "third crasher" Carlos Allen: His attorney says he did attend the dinner, but that he was invited, not a gate-crasher -- contrary to what the White House claims. More updates as we know them.

Elsewhere in today's news:

  • Here's a fantastic photo gallery of regrettable grip-and-grins, to accompany today's Reliable Source item about the same. We've got Donald Rumsfeld with Saddam Hussein, Richard Nixon with Elvis Presley, and Rosalynn Carter with John Wayne Gacy (oops).

  • Jenny Sanford fans need not wait much longer to read her memoir. Its release date has been moved to Feb. 5.

  • Today's advice on navigating tricky social waters: Carolyn Hax offers real talk about discussing STD testing with a partner and Miss Manners offers gracious ways to explain why you must turn down an invitation.

  • Silver Spring-based TV One has purchased four episodes of a new African American sitcom called "Love That Girl!" -- signs of outreach to an audience that has been largely ignored by both broadcasters and cable networks.
