Good afternoon, everyone. The National Enquirer was right: John Edwards is the father of Frances Quinn Hunter -- the 22-month-old daughter of Rielle Hunter, with whom Edwards had an affair while running for president.

"I am Quinn's father," Edwards says in a statement to NBC's "Today." "I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. . . . It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter." Previously, when asked if the child was his, Edwards said "it's not possible." For more, jump over to 44.

Conan O'Brien has reached a severance deal with NBC, which will pay him more than $33 million and will dole out another $12 million to his staff. O'Brien's last episode of "The Tonight Show" before Jay Leno takes it back could be Friday.
