-- U.S. figure skater Johnny Weir's response to animal rights activists who criticized the fox trim on his costume, reports the Associated Press. To prevent activists from disrupting the Vancouver Olympics, Weir says he's replacing the fox with faux fur.

you know, fox fur (made from, you know, foxes) is probably more ecologically sound than faux fur (probably made from petroleum products). But it's a minor point and not worth bringing out the animal rights nuts, so Johnny was right to cave.
