Read this: Illinois earthquake, 'Deadliest Catch' captain dies, American skier Lindsey Vonn injured

Good morning, everyone. It's a blizzard out there! Icy, snowy obstructions are everywhere, mail service in Washington has been suspended, and we're holed up at home, hoping the power doesn't go out. Post videographer Anna Uhls camped out outside Stoney's last night, creating a timelapse video (above) of the snow piling up as people piled inside.

For now, grab some coffee and submit questions for today's Reliable Source chat, which begins at noon.

Elsewhere in today's news:

  • Think this blizzard is bad? Could be worse: There was a small earthquake in Illinois this morning. No damage or injuries have been reported.

  • Fishing boat captain Phil Harris, star of Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch," has died after having a stroke.

  • American skier Lindsey Vonn says she is injured -- a bruised shin -- and may not be able to compete at the Olympics. Vonn was expected to be a star of the Winter Games, which begin Friday.
