Good afternoon, everyone. Hope you're enjoying what is likely your first day back at the office in quite some time. Feels odd, doesn't it? Or perhaps it just feels odd to not be able to watch the Olympics all day long.
Tom Shales says NBC's Winter Games coverage has been fabulous thus far. And it's been a hit: 67.5 million viewers tuned in for the Opening Ceremonies, Nielsen Media Research estimates, and 97 million have watched some part of the first two days of coverage. Perhaps that's because we're all snowed in: "If snow has been a bit scarce up B.C. way," Shales writes, "snow all over the eastern U.S. has confined millions of viewers to their homes and thus given NBC, to some degree, a captive audience."
