This just in: John Mayer apologizes for racist remark, Alec Baldwin hospitalized after 911 call

- Alec Baldwin was briefly hospitalized in N.Y.C. on Thursday after a telephone argument with his 14-year-old daughter, Ireland. The Associated Press reported that the teen called 911 after the early-morning fight because she couldn't reach him and feared her father had taken pills. But a rep for the "30 Rock" star -- slated to co-host the Academy Awards next month -- called the incident a "misunderstanding," saying Baldwin was completely fine and at work: "If there was a real problem or concern, he wouldn't have been released from a hospital within an hour."
- John Mayer apologized during a concert in Nashville on Wednesday for his controversial remarks in recent Playboy and Rolling Stone interviews. The musician made an emotional mea culpa for using sexist and racist language (using the N-word, comparing his sexual organ to a white supremacist). Mayer told the audience he fell into "selfishness, greediness and arrogance" and vowed that he was "done" with the media game. Promise?
