Joe Biden subs for Obama with some executive humor at Radio & TV Correspondents' dinner.

Vice President Biden took the stage in place of his boss at Wednesday's Radio and Television Correspondents' Dinner. The president usually attends the annual media schmooze, but President Obama skipped it for his own St. Patrick's Day reception. And speaking of...

"St. Patrick said he drove the snakes out of Ireland," riffed the VP at the Washington Convention Center. "It's not true. He just made that up. Which is why I understand why he is the patron saint of Fox News." Oooooohhhh!

More veepish humor from the night:

  • "I just got back from five days in the Middle East. It's great to be back to a place where a boom in housing construction is a good thing."

  • "Liz Cheney is in the house.... Liz has been on a tear lately. Now she's questioning if Tom Brady is a real Patriot." Meh, said the crowd. "What the hell, it was worth a try."

  • On moving to Washington: "I voted for public housing all my career -- never realized how good it actually is!"

  • On the language of Washington: ""Deep background' means you'll be quoted in 'Game Change,' 'senior White House official' means 'Rahm,' and 'reconciliation' means 'war.' Then a totally out of left field jab at consultant Dick Morris: "He's quick to point out every time I put my foot in my mouth -- well, Dick, at least it's MY foot!"

  • As he wrapped up with a self-mocking slide show of images from his first year in office, what should pop up but that photo of him at the state dinner with Tareq and Michaele Salahi. "I have no idea how that got in there."

His jokes are corny old white man jokes, but at least he makes them.

Too often these days politicians are afraid to show any humor at all.

Biden is a blithering big mouthed idiot.

If he were a Republican, you liberal halfwits would have been screaming for a recall election months ago.

Well at the least with reguards to the comments about the v.p. posted on here. he isnt the idiot that we have had for a president for the last past years years prior to the democrats taking controll of both the house an the us senate along with the white house i think a lot of the negeative posting on here are just sour grapes because the republicans lost an that they aren in the cat bird seat any longer so that they can continue the give away programs an incentices package an no-bid contracts an to be able to complete the total out sourcing of american jobs to overseas areas an the total privatization of the american workforce as that ehy have been an are stil attempting to do so even still now but they are now a days being soemwhat obstructed by the democrats in office an they sure as hell do not like this. pass health care reform now today thank you

I'm undecided who is/was worse, Joe Biden or Dan Quayle. Biden can spell, but Quayle never told people he wouldn't fly on a commercial plane because someone might sneeze.

Biden was never known for originality....
ask the people at Syracuse where he was caught plagarizing somebody else's work in the '60's.
