Lil Wayne is finally in jail. After several delays (dental work, a fire in the courthouse), the rapper was sentenced Monday to serve a year on gun charges and taken in handcuffs directly from the N.Y.C. courtroom to begin his term.
Plácido Domingo is at home recovering from colon cancer surgery. Doctors in New York removed a localized malignant polyp last week; the tenor has been ordered to rest for six weeks, although he'll continue working for the Los Angeles and Washington operas.
Sportscaster Frank Herzog, longtime voice of the Redskins, is retiring this month. In a memo to the WTOP staff Monday, Herzog, 65, said he has two grandchildren to spoil and a "wife who has endured, without complaint, 41 years of long seasons, frequent road trips and weird schedules."
