D.C. woman sues MTV for "Real World" embarrassment

Where not to go when you'd been drinking: The former "Real World" house at 20th and S streets NW. (Marissa Newhall/The Washington Post)

If you sign a waiver to be on reality TV while you're drunk, does it count? That's what it might come down to for a Bethesda woman suing producers of MTV's "The Real World: D.C." for $5.million for her mortifying cameo on the show. In an invasion-of-privacy, false-9light suit in D.C. Superior Court, Golzar Amirmotazedi, 22, claims stars Andrew Woods and Josh Colon fed her numerous mixed drinks at a downtown bar before taking her back to the Real World house -- where she was portrayed as a leech trying to lure Woods away from his new girlfriend. ("Hot mess" and "Debbie Downer" were the phrases tossed around on air.) Since then, she claims, she has lost her job and suffered depression. A rep for Bunim/Murray Productions called the case "totally without merit."

What a tramp!!!! This is what happens when you drink too much and go home with dudes. Like she didn't know who they were before she got smashed....yeah right, an innocent girl whose life is trashed not because she was tricked into her 15 minutes of fame, but because she acted like an ass!!!!

sounds like a frivolous lawsuit because no one even watched the real world DC.

Way to go Golzar! I didn't even know who Golzar Amirmotazedi was until DCrtv picked up this Reliable Sources comment, which wouldn't have happened if Golzar Amirmotazedi hadn't filed suit. Now, I've Googled her name and will go back and watch that episode online. 5 minutes on TV wasn't enough, so you've name wonders at making yourself a household name. You have such competent legal advice.

I tried watching the show, but after the first 15 minutes of every episode, I just read a book....seriously. From what I heard, the show was a poor representation of DC. My sister said they were only in Dupont, Adam's Morgan, and Georgetown.

Why is "Real World" still popular? It's been on forever. It's just the same drama/conflict/argument in a different city. People should be bored with it by now. Oy.

You don't see too many intelligent women on reality TV. Just nutty, egotistical, selfish, catty shopaholics who are addicted to plastic surgery & attention.
Drama queens. Why any man would want to go out with them for one night let alone marry them is beyond me.
