Padma Lakshmi dining at Rasika with her mother and three others late Friday. The "Top Chef" goddess (who is here for a D.C. edition of the hit foodie series) glided into the downtown haute-Indian restaurant, newborn-baby-less, after 10:30 p.m. wearing an evening gown. (Coming straight from some high-glamour taping? Or is that just how she rolls?) Did not overlap with Rasika's earlier-dining VIPs that night: Tim Geithner, Chris and Kathleen Matthews, Kirsten Gillibrand.

You probably may not know but Pastry Chefs are in big demand these day. What is the reason? Pastry chefs are leaving the restaurant kitchen for whatever reason — family, burnout, becoming entrepreneurs and many of them are opening their own small business.
