Salahis "crash" David Letterman's monologue tonight

Oh hell. Didn't you know this was destined to happen?

Fresh off their "Today" show appearance Tuesday morning, Tareq and Michaele Salahi just taped an appearance on "Late Show with David Letterman" that will air Tuesday ngiht.

From the sound of the CBS press release, they're not really guests -- just a walking gag. Here's how it goes down: Letterman was doing his monologue, when the Salahis walked out on stage and pretended to pose with the host for photographer. They then exited the stage while the audience went nuts.

"See, it's interesting to me," Letterman joked, according to the release. "For all practical purposes, they're trespassing. But, the crowd goes wild!"

Well, if this is correct, I suppose that really is the epitome of media whores.

I won't be watching because (1) I don't care to; and (2) I, unlike the Salahis, but I tend to think like most people, actually have to go to bed at a reasonable hour, get up early in the morning and actually work for a living and, believe it or not, actually pay my bills.

LAWPOOL, you sound depressing as hell. Late shows are practically designed for working stiffs like you. If you can't pull yourself away from a life of "paying bills" for an hour of TV now and then, I really feel sorry for you. Reflect for a moment. You did take the time to post here, after all.

Seems to be the first recorded time Letterman kept his hands in his pants.

It just seems like there are more and more of these sick people every year! Whatever happens in a person's life to make him crave attention as bad as these people do or as bad as someone like Sarah Palin does?? It's like they're STARVING, DYING, and need it desperately, like a transfusion! And they seem to have no SHAME??

Posted by: Maerzie | May 25, 2010 10:52 PM | Report abuse

Hold on people, ease up. They REAL suckas here, are the media. The Salahi's should have got not one more second of "media time" other then to announce that they trashed a White House dinner. Instead, the media glamorized these fame seekers, and now, *POOF*, they made primetime. I cant stomach those 2, I think they need help. But the more the media bashes them, the more the just pump them up.
But hey, I guess thats the USA... (so sad)

The man moves in on letterman to schmooze him immediately. is this the greatest social couple in history???? no?? give me a better one then cause im starting to see the genius of them.... and lastly i just had to mention..... his wife looked beautiful and totally amazing.....from a guy, I'm just being honest.....what guy wouldn't want her.....

Or, better yet -- The Greatest Catch. Pulled onto the boat clinging to a fishing net!

I think they should every one of the Real Housewives series.

Letterman's choice of these particular guests demonstrates poor judgment. This couple needs fade away and do something real with their lives. They aren't significant and anyone who associates with them is making a very negative statement about their own values.

Letterman used to be HILARIOUS when he long ago had his morning show on NBC. (Anyone remember that?) When he moved to post-Carson Late Night, he became less funny and started to slide downhill further. Now he's rarely funny at all.

Dave, you're burned out. Nothing to do with age. You've just been doing the same thing too long. Take 6 months off and recharge your creative juices and then work on new challenges.

hey late night!

you people are f'cked up.

first you had that loser leno.. and you replaced him with conan.. and then leno started CRYING! "waaaaaaa! waaaaaaaa! waaaaaaa! waaaaaaaa!" so, you gave him his job back.,. after losing conan. BIG MISTAKE.

and now with this sht?

wow. toothless letterman has ALWAYS been a loser... i haven't watched this dildo head for 10 years.. and then to have him let these friggin imposters on? LOL it's funny!

i'm wondering how they got the money to buy the clothes they had. did they do another SCAM to steal clothes from a store? where did the limo company come from? SCAM them as well?

the last time the salami twins were in court.. they even LIED about the watch he was wearing to give as collateral...

what a friggin joke.

but then... letterman loves it.

hey dave? tell me more about your INFIDELITY two months ago... now THAT was funny!

With everything that is going on in the world, that people could actually be upset and post their disgruntled expressions on this site about this is totally beyond me. I'll admit ... I kind of enjoy life and the big show we get to see each day.

A couple of self-promoting people, crashing parties, (presidential #1) is a gas.) What in the hell are people upset about? Why do some hate these people? I don't get it.

I will be 74 in two weeks, I guess I'm out of touch because I think they are promoting themselves, having fun and not harming anyone.

What is wrong with us as a nation that we keep giving losers like this the publicity they crave? We seem to have a serious neurosis. It seems we no longer believe in working hard and earning your way in life, rather there should always be some shortcut. Do we admire them because they had the nerve to "go for it" and get what they want? They are basking in it like they somehow deserve recognition. For what, exactly, one should ask. I really think that in the future people like this should receive the treatment they so richly deserve - they should be ignored.

Posted by: marecek | May 26, 2010 4:00 AM | Report abuse

Hey if it's funny, do it. Letterman needs all the laughs he can get, a broken shadow of a man compared to the early days when he was funny.
The Salahis, yep they're famous and that's what they wanted, but there's just one thing that will always keep it from being fun -- we all know they're pathetic put-ons who don't pay their bills because they're living way beyond their means.

Why does the national media in the United State waste so much time on disgusting publicity hounds like the Salahi's or Sarah Palin for that matter. The Salahi's are not news worthy people just because they managed to crash a White House Party. These idiots should have been arrested and put up on charges of potentially threatening the life of the President of the United States. Instead they are interviewed on the Today Show and Late Night Show. Go figure on the intelligence of lowest common donominator of American society, which the Salahi's belong to.
