(Ray Lustig/The Washington Post)
Seller: Paul O'Neill
Price: $2.45 million
Details: The outspoken former Treasury secretary bought his Watergate apartment just a month after he took office in 2001, and held onto it well after he resigned the following year and moved back to Pittsburgh. O'Neill and his wife remodeled the two-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath property as a pied-à-terre for visits to D.C.; the 3,000-foot space (two combined apartments) has floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies overlooking the Potomac, a huge master bath and a flat-screen TV hidden behind a wall painting. Buyer is Nancy Conrad, widow of astronaut Pete Conrad.
