Oliver Stone apologizes for anti-Semitic remarks

Given Mel Gibson's recent woes, you'd think that other Oscar-winning directors would be a little more mindful about veering into crazy talk. Or not. Last weekend Director Oliver Stone got into some hot water over remarks he made during an interview with the Sunday Times of London regarding the Holocaust, Russian deaths during WWII, and the "Jewish denomination of the media." He's sorry, though. "In trying to make a broader historical point about the range of atrocities the Germans committed against many people, I made a clumsy association about the Holocaust, for which I am sorry and I regret," said Stone in a statement released Monday. "Jews obviously do not control media or any other industry."

Stone loves Hugo Chavez, thinks Chavez's way of governing would fit in well here, thinks Ahmadinejad has gotten a bad rap, peddles the theory that LBJ was involved in a massive right-wing conspiracy to murder JFK (and LBJ when he became president enacted the most far reaching social welfare reform and civil rights legislation in the history of the country), thinks Cuba's health care system is perfect, and put out some of the most incoherent and silly movies in mainstream Hollywood history (take a look at 1985's "Year of the Dragon," where a newsroom scene has the wall clocks showing different times with almost every shot, or 1991's "The Doors," immediate predecessor to his reprehensible "JFK," which was homophobic on top of everything else wrong with it). Yet he says things the Hard Left agree with (including that Israel is an imperialist/Jewish conspiracy which, in league with Big Bad Amerika, is at the root of all the world's problems and conflicts).

What gets me as that neither the WaPo or the NYT saw fit to print excerpts of the STOL interview in their main pages or websites; one had to dig deep into a WaPo blog even to see mention of it. Some "Jewish Lobby/Israel" control of the media. This guy is slime, an anti-Semitic sociopath and narcissist of Mel Gibson proportions, and the MSM covers up for him.

And the Israel Lobby (which also includes Christians like John Bolton) does indeed #@$% up U.S. foreign policy. Anyone who thinks otherwise has blinders on.

Oliver Stone needs to shut up before he damages his reputation any further.

I'd suggest he "go back to work," but I don't care if he doesn't work in popular media again.

Is this story about the legendary American freedom of expression?

What a shock, another Hollywood leftist displays his hatred for freedom, this guy sounds a lot like what is coming out of the white house these days, where is the uproar about that?
