Your questions answered: Lindsay Lohan in the slammer

Lindsay Lohan was locked up in an L.A. jail Tuesday for violating probation on her 2007 drunk-driving and drug charges.

How much of her 90-day sentence will she serve? Probably about two weeks, a sheriff's rep said.

Will she be in with the general population? No, there's an isolation unit for inmates at risk because of their notoriety, where Paris Hilton and Michelle Rodriguez did time.

Was there the proverbial "circus-like atmosphere"? Yes. A stranger tossed confetti in Lohan's face as she arrived at court. News helicopters tracked her journey to the lockup. Her estranged dad showed up to shout: "We love you, Lindsay!" Her attorney, Robert Shapiro, dropped her case after only four days.

Can we follow her hard time on Twitter? No, computers aren't allowed.

What comes after jail? Ninety days of rehab. And her movie, "Machete," debuts Sept. 3.

Lindsay Lohan - 90 days sentenced, 14 days served.

The LA County Sheriff's Department is a joke and embarrassment. It's a joke and embarrassment to LA, California and the United States of America. It's a joke and embarrassment both constitutionally and pragmatically.

Constitutionally: Because the 8th Amendment mandates early release for all non violent criminals due to their extreme prison overcrowding.

Pragmatically: Because they turn the LA Criminal Justice System into yet another joke. How can their criminal justice system be taken seriously when there's so much discrepancy between time sentenced and time served?

Legal Bureaucracy and Trash Media Industry Out-of-Control- - - - Lohan's lawyer demonstrated she was trying to achieve probation while remaining employed. All drug tests have been negative over her entire 3-year probation. This was mostly ignored because the prevailing opinion (created by the trash media to sell stories), is a spoiled celebrity who parties. Of course the Legal Bureaucracy always wants to send a message (more budget please).
