Update: Kal Penn's mugger yet to be brought to justice

D.C. police made an arrest in the April mugging of actor-turned-White House staffer Kal Penn -- but months later, the case remains in legal limbo. Washington City Paper reported this week that police arrested Marcellus Chambers in June after he was allegedly caught on videotape using Penn's bank card. In a photo lineup, though, Penn (who returns to his administration job next week after time off to shoot a movie) couldn't identify him as the gunman with absolute certainty. Chambers was released on "high-intensity supervision." A rep for the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to comment to City Paper while the investigation is pending.
