Mystery stand-ins on the Kate-and-Wills commemorative coin finally identified -- by our readers!

The mystery of the week finally solved... (Royal Mint)
...That's who it is! Janis Joplin, left, and Butt-head. (Columbia Legacy; MTV/YouTube)
We asked, and you told us. As we puzzled over the identity of the strangers appearing on the Royal Mint's official Kate-and-Wills-engagement commemorative coin, you the readers jumped in to solve the mystery. Clearly, that is Butt-head standing in for the future king of England -- and thanks to those who corrected our confused guess that it was Beavis. As for the lovely lady by his side -- obviously, none other than the late, great Janis Joplin. Thanks for playing. Now we'll never get invited to the wedding.
