Quoted: Nancy Pelosi remarks upon the size of John Boehner's gavel

"[It] is larger than most gavels here, but the gavel of choice for Mr. Speaker Boehner."

-- Nancy Pelosi coyly handing over one righteous hammer of the gods to John Boehner on his election as speaker of the House Wednesday. (She got a few hoots and whistles from the floor for that one.) While the Senate just has one hammer -- an ivory one from India -- the House has hundreds on hand, most made of wood, from which the Speaker can pick and choose depending on the occasion.
