Hey, isn't that...?: Max Weinberg jamming at Harp & Fiddle; Paul Stookey at Tastee Diner

By The Reliable Source

Max Weinberg sits in with Cathy Ponton King and her band. (Kevin Fox)

  • Max Weinberg slipping behind the drum kit at Flanagan's Harp & Fiddle in Bethesda Saturday night to play some tunes with Cathy Ponton King's band. The E Street Band and former Conan O'Brien drummer is pals with the local blues-rock combo.

  • Paul Stookey breakfasting at Bethesda's Tastee Diner Friday morning. Counter seats. The Peter Paul & Mary vet (in town to do a "Freedon Festival" benefit in Silver Spring for the Menare Foundation) and a pal enjoyed eggs, toast, bacon, coffee -- and a surprise $60 parking ticket on their way out.

Cathy Ponton King rocks! If you haven't seen her play, you should check her out --
even if someone famous will not be playing
    on drums!
