In other news: Barack Obama has quit smoking, says first lady
It's official: President Obama has kicked the nicotine habit. So says the first lady, who told reporters at a White House luncheon that it's been "almost a year" since he smoked a cigarette, reports our colleague Nia-Malika Henderson. "I'm very proud of him," Michelle Obama said, adding that she kept out of the process and didn't nag him. "When somebody is doing the right thing, you don't mess with them . . . Our kids are getting to the age where he wants to look them in the face because they want to know, 'You don't smoke do you, Dad?'. . . He wants to be able to say 'No.'"
