Read this: "Atlas Shrugged" movie promoted at CPAC

By The Reliable Source

"Atlas Shrugged" was supposed to star Angelina Jolie or Charlize Theron; instead, the long-awaited adaptation of Ayn Rand's freedom-loving tract has come to the big screen with actors you've never heard of and no distribution deal. So the producers showed some scenes at CPAC, the annual Woodstock for conservatives, to try to drum up some interest -- and damned if it doesn't look pretty delicious.

They have set this in "the present", say it isn't so! Will I sacrifice all the wonderful Art Deco imagery which has suffused my mind for all these years merely for a movie? "Gone With the Wind" was on TMC last night, would it benefit by being redone updated to the Atlanta Olympics? Doubtful!

The boldness of the 30s aesthetic in industrial design is crucial compared to the muddy, muddled, pablum of today.

Many college kids LOVE Ayn Rand. As they mature, some become horrified. REVOLVING FLOOR has been so kind as to publish my pastiche on Ayn Rand and on her first novel, THE FOUNTAINHEAD. It's called "Ayn Rand's Headcheese," and, yes, it's a recipe--a form I find appropriate because Rand seemed to believe that she and her ruling class sorts were entitled to devour everything. http://revolvingfloor.com/issues/5/ayn-rands-head-cheese/
