FreedomWorks will endorse Tim Burns in Pennsylvania
The GOP candidate in Pennsylvania's 12th district -- the seat vacated by the death of Rep. John Murtha (D-Penn.) -- will be endorsed by Dick Armey's FreedomWorks PAC later Wednesday, I'm told.
Tim Burns is running neck and neck with former congressional aide Mark Critz (D) heading into the May 18 special election, recent polling shows.
The FreedomWorks PAC, launched only a few months ago, is a work in progress, with attention going to long-term get-out-the-vote and information campaigns instead of big ad buys. But the group's role in the tea party movement has given it an enviable brand with conservative activists.
