Thanks for the glowing media coverage, losers!
Valerie Baumann's piece about African-American conservatives "taking heat for their involvement in the mostly white tea party movement" makes it two big stories in the hated "MSM" today that defend tea partiers from charges of racism. Here's how HotAir embraced the Baumann story:
AP discovers that black tea party members exist
And here's how Michelle Malkin thanked CNN for its glowing report on the Tea Party Express.
Desperate CNN: Hey, those Tea Party nuts aren’t so bad after all. Please, please tune in!
Ah, how quickly outrage at a lack of tea party media coverage has turned to mockery of the amount of tea party media coverage. Conservatives and tea partiers are, generally, happy to talk with non-Fox News media outlets about their movement if they feel they'll be quoted fairly. But their movement is possible, by and large, because blogs and twitter and social networks have made it easy to organize without media coverage. And mistrust of the media is as essential to a conservative movement as oxygen and H20. Thus: the positive article about Tea Parties rewarded with a "yeah, where were you yesterday?" response.
