The voice of Geico vs. FreedomWorks
FreedomWorks, the D.C.-based tea party organizers who were way out in front of the "slurs against black members of Congress" story, reports on a menacing message it says it received last week from voiceover actor Lance Baxter.
"I just need to know what the percentages of people who are mentally retarded are," Baxter says in a voice-mail recording posted on the site, "who work for the organization... and also what your plans are for when one of your members actually kills somebody."
Baxter, as FreedomWorks CEO Matt Kibbe delights in reminding us, is the man who informs that Geico "could save you 10 percent or more on car insurance." I'd call it the most self-defeating action of the week by a tea party opponent, but I'd be forgetting CrashtheTeaParty.
