Lou Dobbs will headline next Tea Party Convention

Tea Party Nation announces that Lou Dobbs, the former CNN and current radio host, will be the big star at its National Tea Party Unity Convention in July in Las Vegas. Says Dobbs:

I have had two great experiences with the Tea Party movement, in New Orleans and in New York at the TeaParty365 Tax Day Tea Party. The crowds were large, boisterous and most importantly, made up of hard working Americans who want to take their country back. I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to address the Tea Party in Las Vegas and want to thank Tea Party Nation and the National Tea Party Federation for coming together and putting on this convention.

Media Matters, loving it, dubs the upcoming conference "Birther-Palooza." And it's been awhile since Dobbs pumped up the speculation about his political ambitions.

This convention, a sequel to the February event in Nashville, has suffered less from negative media coverage than its predecessor. It's been expanded and made less expensive, to duck some of the criticism about its cost.
