Tennessee, Alabama GOP candidates co-star in copycat ads

Via Nashville Post blogger JR Lind, this is just odd. Stephen Fincher, one of the real political outsiders of the cycle, is up with a TV ad in his race for Congress in Tennessee.

Career politicians have failed us from Harbinger International on Vimeo.

Also up with a new ad: Dorman Grace, a 7-year member of the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries Board who's running for Agriculture Commissioner. (Yes, he's running against Dale Peterson.)

Yes, the ads are produced by the same firm. But look closer.

Here's a still from the Fincher ad in which he's having a conversation next to a tractor with a man wearing a blue shirt.

And here's a still from the Grace ad, in which he's having a conversation... next to a tractor... wearing a blue shirt.

I've contacted the ad producer to confirm what seems pretty obvious -- that to save some time and money (I've got no problem with that!) the candidates shared a field and a tractor for a day.
