Tea party won't endorse in Virginia's 2nd district

The Hampton Roads Tea Party will probably stay neutral in Virginia's second district after the nomination of GOP candidate Scott Rigell, according to Bill Bartel. That's considered one of the GOP's two best pick-up opportunities in Virginia -- the other being Rep. Tom Perrilello fifth district -- and in both, tea partyers are loudly proclaiming their readiness to support a third party candidate.

This phenomenon isn't actually too widespread, but I think the fact that it's happening in two districts so close to Washington has colored the coverage of the "third party" tea party threat.
