Clinton Pretends to Win

NEW YORK -- "What does Hillary want?"

Hillary Clinton put the question to her supporters here Tuesday night, moments after her opponent, Barack Obama, clinched the Democratic presidential nomination.

What Hillary did not want to do was to concede defeat. "I want the nearly 18 million Americans who voted for me to be respected, to be heard," she told her fans, who answered with cheers of "Denver! Denver!" and "Yes she will!"

The campaign was over, and Obama had locked up the nomination after a flood of more than 40 superdelegates announced their support for him throughout the day. But in the Baruch College gymnasium here (the "Bearcat Den"), Clinton spoke as if she were the victor.

If Hillary doesn't get the democratic nomination, she should run as an independent candidate. She certainly has the votes.

Though in their time they served their country well it is time to put the Clinton Era to rest once and for all. Obama would be foolish to take such a plotting and calculating individual as a VP. The Clintons are political street fighters and Obama should move quickly to dismiss any notion of having her on the ticket. Sen. Webb of VA. is the man perfect for the VP spot.

I admit to being glad it's all over. I had my fill of this farrago a long time ago.

But I agree. There could be no more wildly tactless music than "I ain't no fortunate one" playing at what was essentially a wake.

Lost Tribe Of Hillary Holdouts Found

The first contact in several years with remnants of a holdout band of Hillary Clinton supporters took place yesterday, with a helicopter flyover identifying the handful of survivors. Unwilling to concede that the 2008 Democratic presidential primary had been fairly conducted, the hardy but dwindling tribe became increasingly isolated during the Obama/Leahy administrations, eschewing television and rumored to be surviving only on moss, pant suit juice and the occasional squirrel.

Following the merger of the Republican and Democratic Parties and repeal of the 22nd Amendment in 2015 which allowed Beloved Leader Obama's election to a third term by an unprecedented Electoral College vote of 538 - 0, the tribe disappeared and has not been heard from for several years. Until this sighting, the continued existence of the "Hillarians" was doubted and their story had passed into the realm of urban legend.
